Republic of Srpska active in energy sector investments


Prime Minister of the Republic of Srpska, Zeljka Cvijanovic, spoke on Monday (27 August 2018) with representatives of several international companies involved in project development and investment in the energy sector.


The meeting which was attended by the Minister of Industry, Energy and Mining and the Head of the Republic of Srpska Representation in Brussels, focused on the discussion about the possibilities for establishing cooperation with international investors in view of the fact that the Republic of Srpska has significant potential for intensifying economic cooperation and investment cycles when it comes to energy and renewable energy sources.


The Prime Minister introduced representatives of international companies 'Pure Energy Development', 'Sandhill' and 'Traleng International' with the main goals of the Energy Development Strategy of the Republic of Srpska, as well as capacities for investments in the energy sector which is one of the strategic areas for the development of the Republic of Srpska.


Representatives of international companies expressed interest in cooperation with the Republic of Srpska, due to openness to foreign investments and favorable business environment.


During the meeting, the interlocutors exchanged views about the modalities of improvement of regional cooperation as a prerequisite for more efficient market linking and jointly assessed that the Western Balkan region represented a dynamic economic space with significant development potential.
