Banja Luka to be European City of Sport 2018!
The city of Banja Luka was declared European City of Sports 2018 in the company of 22 other European cities that received the same recognition which aims to popularize and develop sports in general. The prestigious event took place in Brussels in the European Parliament on December 6.
Receiving a prestigious recognition in the European Parliament, Mayor of Banja Luka, Mr Igor Radojičić said that the city will do its best to make the prestigious award justified through concrete field activities, primarily by promoting sports among school-age children.
"This is a big thing for the international affirmation of the city, especially for Banja Luka that is trying its best to promote its image by emphasizing the culture, sport, and improving the business environment in the region," stressed Radojičić.
ACES Europe is an association based in Brussels which assigns every year the recognitions of European Capital, City, Community and Town of Sport. The allocation of these recognitions are done by ACES Europe, according to the principles of responsibility and ethics, being aware that sport is a factor of aggregation of the society, improvement in the quality of life, psycho-physical well-being and complete integration within social classes in the community.
ACES Europe is recognized by the European Commission in the White Paper.
