Republic of Srpska Representation Participates in EU–BiH Subcommittee Meetings in Brussels

The Republic of Srpska Representation in Brussels participated in the 9th meetings of the EU–Bosnia and Herzegovina Subcommittees held on 9 and 10 June 2026 in Brussels, within the framework of the Stabilisation and Association Agreement (SAA) between the European Union and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
On 9 June 2026, representatives of the Republic of Srpska took part in the meeting of the Subcommittee on the Internal Market and Competition, including Health and Consumer Protection. The meeting reviewed the progress achieved over the previous year in fulfilling obligations arising from the SAA in a number of areas, including competition and state aid, public procurement, the banking and non-banking financial sectors, as well as public health policies. Particular attention was devoted to legislative alignment with the EU acquis and ongoing reforms aimed at strengthening market functioning, consumer protection, and public health standards.
The delegation of the Republic of Srpska was coordinated by the Ministry for European Integration and International Cooperation and included representatives of the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, the Ministry of Trade and Tourism, the Ministry of Education and Culture, the Ministry of Labour and Veterans’ and Disabled Persons’ Protection, the Ministry of Transport and Communications, the Ministry of Economy and Entrepreneurship, the Ministry for Scientific and Technological Development and Higher Education, the Insurance Agency of the Republic of Srpska, the Banking Agency of the Republic of Srpska, and the Republic Administration for Inspection Affairs.
In addition, on 10 June 2026, the Representation also participated in the meeting of the Subcommittee on Transport, Energy, Environment and Regional Development. Discussions focused on a broad range of issues related to the implementation of obligations under the Stabilisation and Association Agreement, including transport policy, energy market integration, renewable energy sources, energy efficiency, environmental protection, climate change, regional development, and civil protection cooperation.
Particular attention was given to the challenges faced by road transport operators and professional drivers from Bosnia and Herzegovina within the European Union, as well as to matters related to the Trgovska Gora project. The meeting also addressed developments concerning the Energy Community Treaty, gas market reforms, nuclear safety and radiation protection, and the alignment of environmental legislation with the EU acquis.
The Republic of Srpska delegation was coordinated by the Ministry for European Integration and International Cooperation and included representatives of the Ministry of Spatial Planning, Construction and Ecology, the Ministry of Transport and Communications, the Ministry of Energy and Mining, the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management, and the Republic Administration of Civil Protection.
The participation of the Republic of Srpska institutions in these meetings reflects their continued commitment to constructive dialogue with the European Union and to advancing the implementation of obligations stemming from the Stabilisation and Association Agreement, in line with the European integration process of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
