EUSAIR Conference 2016: Time to invest? Republic of Srpska active in Regional Cooperation

The conference "Delivering EUSAIR: Time to Invest" was held on October 12 2016 and it was organized by the Adriatic-Ionian macro-region partnership where the Republic of Srpska is one of the partners and contributors. The aim was to discuss current challenges and projects undertaken in the EU Strategy for the Adriatic-Ionian macro-region.

MINISTER KLOKIĆ: SIGNIFICANT RESULTS SO FAR

During the event the Republic of Srpska was represented by Minister Zlatan Klokić who spoke about the Republic of Srpska acitvities in line with EUSAIR aims. He noted that "Since 2014, when we become members of this network, we have achieved significant results, primarily thanks to the work of the Agency for Development of Small and Medium Enterprises and the Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Srpska, which gained access to the various regional cooperation opportunities".

The EU Strategy for the Adriatic and Ionian Region (EUSAIR) is a macro-regional strategy adopted by the European Commission and endorsed by the European Council in 2014. The Strategy was jointly developed by the Commission, together with the Adriatic-Ionian Region countries and stakeholders, in order to address common challenges together. The Strategy aims at creating synergies and fostering coordination among all territories in the Adriatic-Ionian Region.

Additionally, Head of the Republic of Srpska Representation in Brussels Mr. Mario Đuragić stressed the importance of participation in the conglomerate, who organized this conference - "Participation in such conferences is extremely useful due to the fact that by this Republic of Srpska promote its capacity for equal participation with other regions and entities from the EU in various projects supported by the EU Institutions", Đuragić said.
