European Commission: Minister Klokić meeting with DG GROWTH officials

Minister of Economic Relations and Regional Cooperation of the Republic of Srpska, Zlatan Klokic, had a meeting today in Brussels, on 11 October 2016, with representatives of the European Commission's DG GROWTH and Executive Agency for SME's (EASME).

During the discussion with the Head of Unit responsible for COSME, Mr. Giacomo Mattino, Minister Klokic emphasized that he was looking forward for a fast ratification of the agreement within the COSME project which would make available the EU funds for small- and medium-sized enterprise projects in the Republic of Srpska.

Mr. Mattino and members of the European Commission delegation commended previous efforts and activities of the Republic of Srpska, more precisely activities of the Agency for Development of small and medium-sized enterprises of the Republic of Srpska. Moreover, they introduced to Mr. Klokic technical and financial details of future financial arrangements which would be available during the financing period 2016/2018.

Later during the day, Minister Zlatan Klokic will take part in a conference on cross-border cooperation at the Committee of the Regions of the European Union, while tomorrow (Wednesday), on 12 October 2016, Mr. Klokic will take part in the panel on further investments in the Adriatic-Ionian region and the role of the Republic of Srpska in regional cooperation.

The panel discussion is organized by the Republic of Srpska Representation in Brussels and in cooperation with other European partners from the Adriatic-Ionian Initiative.

Klokic's visit is covered also by the Federation of Regional Actors in Europe (FEDRA), which has prepared an interview about attracting foreign investments and economic stability of the Republic of Srpska.
